Confidence almost seems like this force that we know what it is, but at the same time we don’t. Maybe because confidence is so illusive? One minute you maybe feeling confident & the next before you know it that confidence is gone. You see some people who seem confident, but are they really confident? Or are they insecure and putting up show? So how do we manipulate confidence, and how do we boost our confidence?
Confidence : The feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something; firm trust.https://www.dictionary.com/
Confidence can be a bit confusing, but when you have it, you don’t really care about what anyone else feels about you. You trust yourself, worry about yourself & that’s that. So confidence starts & ends with you.
FOR MOST – OUR MINDS NATURALLY STRAY AWAY FROM CONFIDENCE
Do you ever catch yourself thinking negative? Doubting yourself? Thinking the worst? Why is that? Well our minds naturally tend to go towards the negative end of the spectrum.
So that means that to be confident, we have to be self-aware of our thoughts. We have to be aligned with our minds & not let it wander. Basically we have to keep tabs on our mind. We have to train it, we have to teach it.
Most of the things in todays world will make you doubt yourself. You go online, social media and you see everyone almost seemingly having a better “life” than you. Looking “better than you”, driving a better car & the list goes on. Anyones confidence can be shaken by this. So we have to do things that will boost our confidence.
Boosting your confidence maybe easier you think. I am going to share somethings that I do. I myself suffer from confidence issues, just like many. However that does not mean I can’t work on it or improve.
I want to give you this insight from someone who is successful in his field, and many people assume that I have no confidence issues. Let’s dig a little deeper.
WHAT ARE THE BEST WAYS TO BOOST CONFIDENCE
There are many ways to boost and raise your confidence. They all require time and effort on yourself. Another thing I notice, many people will put a lot of time and energy into so many other things, but themselves.
So when boosting your confidence, don’t be scared to put yourself first. Remember confidence starts and ends with you.
Many won’t think I suffered from confidence issues, but I have. Several different stages of my life have brought different confidence issues, but each one I have been able to overcome.
- Bad ACNE (When I was younger)
- Not having enough money (Going out and seeing others do better than me) in the past.
- My height (I am 5’8 and most fitness models where taller, but now I use it to motivate people who are my height)
- When I got injured, being small in size & not being able to workout.
These are just some of the things. I am sure there are more, but those come to mind quick. We all can suffer from different things that affect our confidence. However when boosting it, we can do things that raise it no matter the challenge.
LET’S SKYROCKET YOUR CONFIDENCE
Now some of the things I am going to share with you are things that I did. The ones I am going to share with you, are by far the best ones that worked for me. They helped me get out of any confidence rut I was in. I am sure they will help you.
You just need to have consistency on working on yourself, give yourself time to adapt to the changes, and STOP DOUBTING YOURSELF!
1.) I CAN’T STRESS THIS ENOUGH! WORK ON YOUR PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
This to me is so crucial. We only get one body, one capsule, one magnificent chance to take advantage of our physical capabilities.
“It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable” – Socrates
Taking care of yourself raises your confidence automatically, because you are investing in yourself. The simple act that you know you are doing something to improve yourself, will spike your confidence. This then is transferred into the physical changes you begin to see from working out. You become leaner, stronger, your face becomes slimmer & before you know it people want to look like you.
Remember you can’t buy a body. You can only build it. So going to the gym and working on yourself raises your confidence greatly. This paired up with a great nutrition plan will make you feel, perform, & look better. All of these help in increasing your confidence.
Now I am not saying you must turn into the next Mr.Olympia, but simply working on yourself and your physique – will raise your confidence as you challenge yourself and build yourself up in the gym.
2.) READ YOUR WAY TO CONFIDENCE
One of the best ways I was able to stabilize my mind, my thoughts, & my confidence was through reading. This help me gather the wisdom of the writers, and their experiences. Reading helps expand your knowledge. The more knowledge and wisdom you have, the more confidence you have.
Reading helps expand your knowledge and helps prepare you for the battles of life. The more ready you are, the more confident you will be. Think of reading as your training and tools to life. just like a warrior get’s ready training and has his sword, weapons, and shield. He is prepared for battle. Reading books is like preparing for battle.
So what are some great books that I read to help boost my confidence?
- How to Win Friends & Influence People by Dale Carniege
- Gates Of Fire by Steven Pressfield
- The Magic of Believing by Claude M Bristol.
Don’t ever think that reading is an extinct thing to do. Those who continue to read weather it be a physical book, or through a digital device, the benefits are amazing.
Find the books that work for you, and carry them through this journey of life.
3.) YOUR POSTURE SPEAKS YOUR CONFIDENCE
We’ve heard about making an impact without saying a word. Well this one is IMPORTANT. Being confident is about trusting yourself right? So how much trust do you exert to the world? Do you show that you are confident in yourself, or are you showing that you’ve given up? Even if you are confident, but not showing it – this can kill many opportunities for you.
Posture while standing is the most important, here are somethings to keep in mind:
- Be self aware of your posture. Constantly check yourself and see if you are holding correct posture.
- Perform the wall test to make sure you are standing straight. Don’t know that the wall test is? Click Here.
- Lift your chest up, & have a small hollow on your lower back. Avoid arching or leaning back.
- Keep your chin up leveled.
- Don’t walk with your head down & stop walking like you’re looking at your phone.
- Don’t let your shoulders roll forward.
Those are some of the key things when trying to improve your posture. This will also help you have better workouts. It will help make sure you are doing the workouts with correct posture and not putting unnecessary strain on your body.
Which Posture Will You Show The World. Your Confidence or Your Doubts?
SO IN THE CONFIDENCE STARTS & ENDS WITH YOU
I gave you amazing things you should focus on when trying to improve your confidence. Like anything in life, the journey of confidence is not overnight. This is something you must work on daily, by always improving yourself. Even the smallest things can help improve your confidence.
Always remain positive and remember that you are unique in this world. We are all human, and we all go through times of doubt with ourselves. That is human, that is okay. However it is also human to go look for ways to become better. So look for ways to keep improving and raising your confidence. Confidence starts with you & ends with you. Always.
